Wilkins Cast Iron Donkey Cart Toy For Sale

Our Wilkins Cast Iron Cart came from a North Dakota estate and was put in an attic for years.  Unfortunately, the donkey has a lower break to the leg where there was a cast in wheel.  Still, the toy displays nicely.

We consider the wheels on this cart a work of art on their own.  The star pattern in yellow is a smooth and crisp casting that took an incredible level of expertise.  Also note the patented Wilkins disconnecting draft animal.  The metal “harness” can be sprung and released to attach or reattach the donkey.

Winkins toys of NH eventually turned into Kingsbury Toys.  The cast iron maker was smart and transitioned from cast iron to using some wood, then steel, then other materials as the company got older.
