Well used German Train Penny Pull Toy For Sale

We tend to screen out toys that are in poor to average condition, but this was a prized possession for an Indiana family with no heirs.  The boy’s toy collection passed to us, and this was the most used and most loved of the lot.

It was a combination penny toy and pull toy.  We added a brass smokestack to make give it back some of its former glory.  The pull string was likely used in some models like this one; other models used a lead flywheel.  The roof is missing, but we leave it up to the next owner to restore it or not.

-Every once in a while a beat up toy has a great presence as-is.  This is a little gem. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”.

-Fischer, CKO, and Distler are a few of the possible makers of this German penny toy.  It was destined for the US market based on its cow catcher (now only half is present).
