Vintage Tonka Toys Dark Blue Side Step Pressed Steel Ford Pickup Truck

This piece is a vintage 1957 iconic “rounded fender” Ford side step pressed steel pickup truck with rubber tires that was manufactured by Tonka Toys of Mound, Minnesota.

We recognize this as a 1957 because of the yellowed push in headlights and the round fender that makes it a 1956 or 1957 only. We recognize it as the 1957 truck because the 1957 has a hood scoop while the 1956 variation does not.

The decals on both sides of the vehicle read “Tonka Toys, Mound Minn”. The decals show their age, but are still readable. It is very good structural condition except for some bending on the truck bed. The tailgate is missing as are the chains that would hold it on.

Our example of this pickup truck is in fair all original condition with no restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, chips, surface rusting, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 12 ½” in length.
