Turner Toys Pressed Steel Packard Fire Engine Pumper Ladder Truck 

This is a pressed steel Packard fire engine pumper and ladder truck that was manufactured by John C. Turner Co./Turner Toys of Wapakoneta, Ohio/Dayton, Ohio. 

The black rubber skinned tires are still intact, but as per usual with toys of this age they may have petrified, discolored, warped and/or cracked. Please see the photos as the rubber skinned tires are definitely showing their age. The tires are marked Turner Toys and Dayton, Ohio.  The flywheel turns and wheels roll as they should.

This piece is in great all original condition with breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 26 ¼” L. A brief history of John C. Turner Co./Turner Toys of Wapakoneta, Ohio/Dayton, Ohio: 

In 1915, the John C. Turner Co. Was founded by John C. Turner in Wapakoneta, Ohio. At some point the company moved to Dayton, Ohio and continued to sell toys until 1948. They are known for a line of “Victory is won” flywheel toys sold by direct mail. Many toys are marked “Dayton, Ohio”. We were not able to find a lot about the history of this company, but we are proud to be able to occasionally be able to offer these toys to our customers.
