Tonka 1962 Dragline Pressed Steel Crane *SOLD*
Tonka 1962 Dragline Pressed Steel Crane For Sale
Our big yellow and black crane comes to us from its original owner. There were some smudges and dust, but it cleaned up superbly. The paint, rubber, and even the draglines are original and nearly new.
Condition is excellent with some minor chipping to the rear of the crane cab. The dragline has extremely fine chipping at the tip of the bucket, otherwise it is near new. Treads are supple. Stickers are excellent and original. Its condition is better than 99% we have seen before.
We were impressed with how fun this was to pose and photograph. Everything works as it should and its ready for the next generation of owner.
Historic Tonka fun fact:
The logo was based on a University of Minnesota drafting student’s sketch by Donald B. Olson, who later became the company’s chief industrial engineer. The logo used the Dakota Sioux word tanka, which means “great” or “big”.
