We have for you a pressed steel clam shell construction digger manufactured by Structo Manufacturing Co. of Freeport, Illinois.

This is in all working order the crane goes up and down, and wheels roll as they should.

This piece is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 21” L including crane, the base is approximately 11” L x 5 ½” W, and it is approximately 16 ½” H. A brief history of Structo Manufacturing Company of Freeport, Illinois:     

Structo Manufacturing Company was based out of Freeport, Illinois. Founded in 1908, Structo made toy construction sets before selling the patents to A.C. Gilbert Company, the well-known manufacturer of ERECTOR sets. Structo then started manufacturing “Auto-Builder” kits, including the High-Wheel Tractor, that children could assemble into working models.
