Original Eastlake Style ca. 1865 Victorian Brass 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ Hinges from the National Hotel Northville, NY

This is an antique set of original Eastlake style ca. 1865 Victorian brass hinges from the National Hotel Northville, NY.

During the late 1800’s the National Hotel in Northville, New York burned down and the Whinney House was built on the property with the Whinney House eventually burning down as well in the early 1900’s. We were unable to find much more about the National Hotel, but we imagine based on the style of these hinges it must have been quite the site to behold in a small-town such as Northville. The style of these hinges is called Eastlake and it is a simpler design than the more ostentatious earlier Victorian designs. This is true of the furniture, architecture, décor and small details. The lines are more geometric, with modest curves if any and light carving. While considered simpler than early Victorian designs it is still rather detailed as you can see by the designs on these hinges.

These pieces are in good all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. These pieces show the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and other situational factors. These are approximately 4 ½” L x 4 ½” W. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
