Nonpareil Tin Lithographed Hansom Cab for Sale *SOLD*
Nonpareil Tin Lithographed Hansom Cab
We have a great tin cab circa 1915 for sale. Â It was manufactured by the American toy company Nonpareil (without equal in French) of Bloomfield, New Jersey, which proceeded Marx and is part of the budget toy movement. Â Nonpareil often omitted extra parts and windups in favor of keeping prices low.
This toy has good lithography in an unusual green and cream color combination. Â The horse is the typical Nonpareil white and black with spots.
A brief history of the Nonpareil Toy & Novelty Co. Newark, New Jersey:
Post-WWI to late 1940s
Specialty: Lithographed tin toy trucks and wagons, mostly of the penny toy or tiny prize package toy variety.
