Marx Pressed Steel Car Carrier Truck *SOLD*
Marx Pressed Steel Car Carrier Truck
Our streamline later 1938s car carrier is a classic in beauty and simplicity. -Some call it a Car Hauler. Â Marx had a knack for making clean designs with a maximum of eye pop. Â Here we get Red, Yellow and Blue sprinkled with a couple of cars.
Condition is good with some oxidation on the hood. Â The front trim has most of its plating but has darkening from age. Â Both cars on top fit, but may be another period set of toys (or proper it is hard to know). Â We do see one drip of that cursed white house paint under the truck’s hood and out of sight.
The front Marx truck/tractor can be removed and the trailer pivots. Â Cars are removable.
A brief history of Louis Marx & Company of New York City, New York:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
1919 – 1979
Founder: Louis Marx
Specialty: Louis Marx and Company was an American toy manufacturer in business from about 1919 to 1980 founded in New York City by Louis & David Marx. Its products were often imprinted with the slogan, “One of the many Marx toys, have you all of them?” Arguably, Marx was the most well-known toy company through the late mid-20th century. Best known for their lithographed tin windup toys Marx was also one of the big four among American electric train manufacturers. Interestingly, Marx also successfully revived the Yo-Yo in 1928; it sold well even through the Depression.
