Marx Tin Lithographed & Glass Buddy Bank & Candy Container *SOLD*
Marx Tin Lithographed & Glass Buddy Bank & Candy Container
Our Buddy bank by Marx was a great marketing idea. Â This jar was packed with candy “in the day” and then convinced parents it was in the name of thrift. Â It was later a bank; Genius!
The character’s name may be Buddy. Â My 89 year old friend also called him “Marxy”.
We just don’t find these on the market too often. Â The hand “waves” if you angle it when coins are deposited. Â The arm and entire tin is original, but these likely got bent and discarded. Â Likewise, the glass is original and many likely broke over the years.
Condition is good used original with wear on the coin opening.
