Ives Cap Gun Circa 1882 *SOLD*
Ives Cap Gun Circa 1882 **Sold**
This Ives cap gun has been positively identified with the Cast Iron Toy Pistols book by Best. Â It is a tricky toy to ID as it doesn’t have markings, yet displays an extremely high level of casting detail indicative of the best-of-the-best American toy companies.
Ives is know as the Cadillac of toy makers, and this is no exception. Â It is a toy from 1882 and looks great for its age! Â The embellishment is similar to the engraving that Colts guns and Smith & Wesson used for presentation firearms. Â Kids got the same royal treatment here.
With this gun you pull back the hammer then have to hold the trigger with your index finger. Â Then you let the trigger go and it fires.
