Hawekotte & Klausmann ca. 1908 Cast Iron Electric Motor *SOLD*

Hawekotte & Klausmann ca. 1908 Cast Iron Electric Motor

What a great scientific toy!  We have for you this antique cast iron toy electric/electromagnetic engine steam accessory motor that was manufactured by Hawekotte & Klausmann of Indianapolis, Indiana.

This motor appears to be complete and original with both copper coil (magnets), bronze center wheel, and the lever on one side which is many times missing. The copper coils or magnets show some soiling and need a good cleaning. The copper wiring is intact but most of the insulation is missing. The wheel spins freely. We did not test this but by all indications it should work; it is sold as shown.

Our example of this electromagnetic engine is in great all original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina and aging from 120 or so years. It is approximately 4 ¼” x 2 ¾” x 3 ¼”. This is a very desirable and hard to find cast iron toy and would be a great addition to any cast iron collection. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
