German Tin Rooster Pecking Windup Toy For Sale

Our small tin rooster is so much fun!  It is a post-war tin toy with a tiny windup hopping mechanism inside. Hold the feet, windup the toy, put it on the ground and it pecks like its looking for a worm.

The toy’s condition is all original from the glossy tin pressing to the excellent condition felt rooster “comb” and “tail feathers”.  The felt is extremely bright, a great bonus versus worn examples we’ve seen.

The tin is marked U.S. Zone Germany on the lithograph and comes with the key.  We wonder about the maker, as it could be Arnold or Fleischmann just getting back on their feet.  Then we have see a plastic and later  version of this toy marked Kohler.
