Distler Penny Toy Baby and Acrobat Toy *SOLD*
Distler Penny Toy Baby and Acrobat Toy For Sale
This set of humble penny toys are circa 1915. Each was marketed to post war German buyers that were ravaged by war. Quickly these exported to places like England, and cost, literally, pennies. The acrobat flips around its flag pole and the baby chair tin toy converts into a table or high chair.
The high chair/food table baby is 7 cm high, number 181 . It could also be by Gely or co-sold and was also sold in a simplified form without a transformation; this is the more desirable iteration. Its estimate in the Distler book was 200-300 Euros.
The Acrobat is number 302 and about 21.5 cm high. Estimate on its price via the Distler guide was 200-300 Euro.
Condition on the clown is very good to excellent and it spins around the pole using the bottom plunger. The high chair baby has wear on the face and is good condition and a 100 year old toy.
