Choo Choo R.R. Pressed Steel Train Toy *SOLD*
Choo Choo R.R. Pressed Steel Train Toy For Sale
This barn find Choo Choo train toy is a hot mess of safety issues. It is heavy, has sharp edges and really is a bad kids toy. -But it was a toy around the early 1900’s. It was stamped out of steel in America, likely around the Ohio region, and then slapped with a fast coat of paint, assembled with a spring and washing board style noise maker, then sold to kids. It reminds us of a Dayton or Schieble toy.
This example came from an Indiana barn and comes with a loose front nose cap and loose noise maker. It is intact, but so crude we weren’t sure how it would operate. The spring works and we did a quick test, but the parts absolutely fly into motion. -Very dangerous! We sell it as not working, because all the fittings need to be realigned and checked to properly work, possibly adding a rivet or spot weld back.
Condition is original wood and steel with original paint. It has bumps and scratches, but is an authentic 100 year old toy.
