We have for you this antique ca. 1918 wooden lithographed No. 34053 Pictorial Completion Test scientific instrument that measures the psychological IQ of children. This was manufactured by the Chicago Laboratory Supply and Scale Company/C.H. Stoelting Co. of Chicago, Illinois/Wood Dale, Illinois and illustrated by G. Maniette.

We don’t have instructions on how this works exactly, but we played the game with the children we have on hand and it is a picture-completion test which is a type of test consisting of drawings of familiar objects with features missing. The task is to recognize and specify the missing parts. This has 50 tiles, which may be complete, but we have no way of knowing since we can’t really find any details.

This piece is in very good all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch-ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories, and wear that are to be expected from age and play.
