Bandai Mercedes Benz 219 Sedan Tin Friction Car *SOLD*
Bandai Mercedes-Benz 219 Sedan Tin Friction Car
If you want to go classy, 1960s era Mercedes-Benz have the style you desire.
The popular Bandai Company in the 1960s Japan manufactured this nicely detailed tin Mercedes Sedan as part of their scale model “Automobiles of the World” Series. They really nailed the body of the car, and this particular example has a lovely metallic pale green paint accented properly with chrome trim. The black rubber tires are paired with lithographed Mercedes Emblem rims.
The interior is vibrantly detailed in lithograph with a full dashboard and bench seats along with a green plastic steering wheel.
A friction motor is attached to the rear wheels. It operates loudly and bogs down when pushed forwards, not rolling on its own.
Some minor scratching and paint loss is visible on the car, and there is some light loss to the chrome on the tail lights/rims. Hood emblem is unfortunately missing.
The original box show some moderate edge wear and some slight discoloration to the lid. There is a mild tear on one edge with a tape repair.
Overall, this Mercedes is a nice display piece for any shelf!
