Arnold Early Ocean Liner Tin Toy 700/6 *SOLD*

Arnold Early Ocean Liner Tin Toy For Sale

Our very early Arnold Ocean Liner is a beautiful, artistic, boat toy cataloged in 1920.  It has a set back, sweeping bridge with large bow for an  exaggerated toy look.

Keep in mind that Arnold toys of Germany dipped their toes into toy boat waters.  There were four sizes of the 700 and 750 model lineup and this was the largest and best executed.  Without a doubt, this is the most elegant of that series with red and black hulls, Model 700/6.  It gains the extra fourth smoke stack and then two additional air vents forward of the bridge.

Condition is all original with a deep red waterline with black highlights and gold trim in spots.  The white upper deck and toy are likely hand painted.  The windup does not work on this one and we chose to leave it as-is.  There is chipping on the rear deck mustard-tan paint.

Detailing like railing in gold truly sets off the artistic and sculptural look of this toy boat.
