Rare Antique Mooing German Felt Covered Cow on Wooden Platform Pull Toy Primitive Folk Art Style

Wow! That is one word to describe this piece. This fragile beauty is an antique primitive folk art style pull toy from Germany that we believe dates from the late 19th century to early 20th century. The cutest thing about this is that when you pull its head to the side and let go she “moos”…and more amazingly this is still intact and works! She appears to be made of some type of plaster covered in a type of felt. The felt has come apart at the seam around her neck/chest area. Other than that, she shows no other ripped seams anywhere which is truly amazing for a toy this age. The felt is intact and shows some slight thinning/wear in some areas but is in overall great condition. She has a wooden platform base with metal wheels. The metal wheels are a bit wonky and loose, but for a toy this age and rarity some imperfections are to be expected. Her hooves are made of wood with pegs that fit in to the platform beneath her. She has glass eyes and we believe the horns may be either plastic or glass as well. The collar around her neck is a waxy paper type material and it has come apart, but is still securely attached. On the collar is a metal bell. On the bottom of the wooden platform it says “Made in Germany”.  She measures approximately 12″ long overall, the cow measures 11 ¼” long x 8 ¼” tall x 4 ¼” wide.  It really is in such wonderful condition for its age.
