Marx Tin Lithographed “Flash Gordon Radio Repeater Click Pistol” with Box *SOLD*
Marx Tin Lithographed “Flash Gordon Radio Repeater Click Pistol” with Box
This Flash Gordon Click Pistol is tops! Enjoy the space age sleek design and prewar Marx tin at its best.
See the lithography of Saturn, Flash Gordon, buttons and coils, cooling vents, and the stars! The box is a beauty too, with flash, buildings, “exhaust gasses”, and the Marx logos. Vents are nicely cut into the toy’s “chamber” along with ray gun coils above.
The box is pressed and wrapped for the perfect presentation. The toy is lightly used and clicks very well.
When a kid pressed the trigger, the gun makes an oil can type clicking with each pull. Pull 60 times a second and the kid could “destroy” 60 enemies of Flash!
The box condition is excellent and original. The pistol condition is good to excellent and all original.
A brief history of Louis Marx & Company of New York City, New York:
1919 – 1979
Founder: Louis Marx
Specialty: Louis Marx and Company was an American toy manufacturer in business from about 1919 to 1980 founded in New York City by Louis & David Marx. Its products were often imprinted with the slogan, “One of the many Marx toys, have you all of them?” Arguably, Marx was the most well-known toy company through the late mid-20th century. Best known for their lithographed tin windup toys Marx was also one of the big four among American electric train manufacturers. Interestingly, Marx also successfully revived the Yo-Yo in 1928; it sold well even through the Depression.
