Henry Wallwork & Co. Cast Iron Train

Our cast iron toy was made in Manchester, England and an unusual find.  It is pending at the moment, but we wanted to share photos.

This H. Wallworks and Company foundry train was tabled 1892 and documented in Ralston’s book of cast Iron Floor Trains.

Ralston notes typical British style with “no cowcatchers  on the locomotive, or large headlights in front of the smokestacks.”

A brief history of Henry Wallwork & Co. of Manchester, England: 

1880s-1890s (time producing toys) 

Founder: William Munslow, Henry Wallwork, and Miles Platting 

Specialty: H. Wallwork & Co. an ironworks company made model railway parts and cast iron floor trains which was unusual for British ironworks companies.
