John Deere Manure Spreader Cast Iron by Vindex *SOLD*
John Deere Manure Spreader by Vindex
As always, it is a pleasure to offer truly American toys with exceptional histories. This storied toy harkens from the Vindex plant of Belvidere, Illinois. Then it is teamed with mules and pulls an American John Deere manure spreader.
Spreaders have never looked so sexy. The red cast iron is quite large and comes in red, green, and yellow with golden John Deere highlighted letters. The mules are in solid black and it should be noted, reproductions. They were added to compliment the spreader but do not have the fastening hardware for the wagon tongue.
This toy actually has most of an original Vindex label affixed to the side. It shows requisite wear and chipping from being used. The drive belt or spring is still intact and operates the spinning spreading gear and mechanisms.
National Sewing Machine Company was a Belvidere, Illinois-based manufacturer formed before 1886. The company manufactured sewing machines, washing machines, bicycles, an automobile, home workshop machinery, and cast-iron toysand novelties (under the Vindex Toy Company label).
