Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Co. RARE Tin Lithographed Pull Toy with Horses & Clown *SOLD*
Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Co. RARE Tin Lithographed Pull Toy with Horses & Clown
This Wolverine is simply not documented and without a doubt, a war toy ca. 1940. Â We can see elements of the clown and horse toys put together into a pull toy creation.
During the war, Wolverine and U.S. companies tended to run out of wheels first; we suspect the suppliers were pulled in before metal toy production was forced to stop. Â So this toy, like similar toys of the era, received wood wheels.
Then Wolverine likely kept extra parts and pressings if sales fizzled on toys or chose to make an overage. Â We get a great composition.
The horses go in a circle and then the clown dongs the bell. Â It is a great toy and very imaginative. Â The toy works.
Condition is lightly used with wheel scuffing and some edge wear.
