Dayton Friction Toy Works ca. 1925 Pressed Steel Coal & Ice Truck *SOLD*

Dayton Friction Toy Works ca. 1925 Pressed Steel Coal & Ice Truck

We enjoyed getting this Dayton Toys Coal & Ice Truck, and the new owner will too.  It has been cataloged in Butler Brothers wholesale, ca 1925.  The cab is a tall cab with square holes, reminiscent of the early 1920’s Buddy L toys.

Our truck is all original.  The Gyro is doesn’t engage much and the truck can freewheel, worn inside the gearing.  The paint condition is all original with scratching and scrapes.  Overall it is in very good condition and our example is wonderful for its age and fragility.  They didn’t use primers or bake paint; most are rusted out.
