Leonard’s Toys. Hand Made Wooden Depression Era Vehicles *SOLD*
Leonard’s Toys. Hand Made Wooden Depression Era Vehicles
We saved these toys from the bottom of a box. They are Depression era toys, handmade, and worthy of preservation. We put them in the folk art category & call them Leonard’s toys.
Recycled wood and buttons are used. Staples and nails are hand added along with some fabric to hold pieces together. Tape is used on the axle ends.
The end staple is a bumper, but it is also a pull toy hard point. The kid knew what the snazzy upscale toys had. Wheels work for pulling action.
Enjoy the art & reflect on the the 1930’s Great Depression. Kids just didn’t have money for toys. Sometimes hand made work with ingenuity did the job. Recycling was a thing before it was a thing.
