Kenton Cast Iron Hose Reel For Sale

This Kenton cast iron hose reel dates to ca 1905 and has all of the great detailing we would expect from a turn of the century toy.  It is almost impressionistic with its look and has an integral driver.

The toy exhibits a rare “signature” on the back near the reel stating “Kenton Toys” on the finials.

Then up front, the toy has the more deluxe three horse variation where most are two horses.

The reel itself has a good deal of flourishes and detailing.

Condition is good used with corrosion on silver horse belly as well as underside of the double tree.  The back of the reel step, underneath, has corrosion and darkening as well as do various wear points on the toy.  Our fire toy has been played with without a doubt.

This said, the driver and Kenton badges/finials are intact and unbroken.  This is a rare treat as most of these badges get broken off and drivers cracked.  Our example is in good original condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs.
