Our Number 24 Pressed Steel airplane is one extremely rare toy.  It is documented in a Turner Toys catalog from 1935, but this incarnation has a slightly different set of wheels.  The steel airplane is all original and about as good as this category of toy gets.

Mid Great Depression, this would be an extravagant toy.  That said, the maker still tried to hold down costs and used a minimum of parts; favoring giant steel press detailing and punched holes.  The rear landing gear is simple, as is the cockpit and window.  It is impressionistic of a Ford airplane.

Wings are approximately 20″ in span and the length is shown in pictures.

Paintwork is sprayed on by Dayton in a very thin green with red wings and accents.  The Dayton Airplane has the beautiful gold paint on the propeller, typical of Dayton Ohio area toys.
