Weeden Manufacturing Co. No. 644 Horizontal Steam Engine Roller *SOLD*

Weeden Manufacturing Co. No. 644 Horizontal Steam Engine Roller

This is a No. 644 horizontal steam engine roller manufactured by Weeden Manufacturing Co. of New Bedford, Massachusetts.

We did not fire this engine up, but the pistons and the flywheel spin and move as expected and operate smoothly by hand. The burner is included. The oft lost water level sight glass is intact. The top wooden handle to the whistle valve is original and intact. The chain is missing on this one. The roller support has been resoldered on.

The Weeden No. 644 horizontal steam engine tractor was introduced in 1924 and produced into 1935.

Our example of this Weeden horizontal steam engine roller is in good all original condition with no breaks, restorations, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 11 ½” L X 5″ W and stands 8 ½” H. This would be a great and impressive addition to any collection. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
