For those that think they have most every tin toy, this Mercury Cougar should raise an eyebrow.  Yes, it is a beautiful red car; however this one sports a period vinyl top.

Digging deeper, the toy’s beautiful red paint had a scratch on the roof.  Otherwise this boxed toy would have been near new old stock.  The owner decided to make the car that never existed, and added a black textured top and artfully covered the scratches.  In this condition, and I almost never say this, I think the restored top looks better than the original release.

The tin Cougar is quite large at an impressive 14″.  The original box is included to complete the set.
