Tamiya Toyota Hilux R/C 4×4 Vintage 1981 *SOLD*
Tamiya Toyota Hilux R/C 4×4 Vintage Pickup Truck 1981
This Tamiya Toyota 4X4 is destined to be an antique, it just needs more time. The R/C truck offered today was a pro built Tamiya Helix 4X4 kit from the late 1970’s, and it was used as a hobby shop display. The R/C kit was built per the box art and then displayed for years, then stored away.
The Hilux was equipped with Tamiya’s first three-speed, radio-shiftable transmission. In keeping with the manufacturing traditions of the day, most of this trucks chassis and running gear are metal.
It was recently found with servos included in very near new old stock conditions. The chassis is shining and the paint is still glossy, just like box art.
Unlike the Blazing Blazer, the Hilux came equipped with oil-filled shocks like those found on the Rough Rider or Sand Scorcher. Rear shocks are at an extreme angle, and the front shocks are set at a more useable angle.
Our 4X4 Hilux truck would cost hundreds to build to this level, and then the kits themselves are trading at a much higher mark. Servos as shown are included.
