Sutcliffe Model Bluebird Clockwork Speed Boat Tin Toy *SOLD*

Here we have a great medium sized Tin Boat based on the historic Bluebird K3. The K3 was a hydroplane speedboat powered by a Rolls Royce K Engine, which was used in military tanks! Her driver, Malcolm Campbell, broke the water speed record in 1937 when he exceeded 130 miles per hour.

This boat had a very long production cycle with Sutcliffe, spanning both Pre-War and Post-War eras. Along the way, the toy also had different variations in the design and color scheme.

This particular boat is the post war 1950s era model, when the livery was blue/white and gold. Original Union Jack Decals and large Sutcliffe Bluebird Emblem decals remain in place.

Clockwork motor is strong. The paint is good across the board with little loss. There is some light cracking in the paint along the top rear seams (below the cockpit &v ents) as well as some small spots of discoloration.

Original Box displays well, with some light creasing near the corners and some mild edge wear.

Measures approx. 10-3/4” L x 3-1/4” W x 2-1/4” H
